Movable Type

These are plugins I've created for the blogging software I (and many others) use, Movable Type. I primarily create plugins for Action Streams, which are very small, but people find them useful. You can see all of them demoed on http://ussjoin.com.

The code for all of these is hosted at GitHub, and their issue tracker is here.

  • Blip.tv Action Streams v. 1.0

A plugin for Mark Paschal's excellent Action Streams plugin for Movable Type; adds support for shows from Blip.tv in one's Action Stream. Listed in the Movable Type Plugin Directory, and available for download from here.

  • CPAN Action Streams v. 1.0

A plugin for Mark Paschal's excellent Action Streams plugin for Movable Type; adds support for CPAN uploads in one's Action Stream. Listed in the Movable Type Plugin Directory, and available for download from here.

  • Facebook Action Streams v. 1.1

While Action Streams contains profile support for Facebook, it does not contain an Action Stream; this plugin, in conjunction with the YourData Facebook Application, gives an action stream of status updates to Action Streams. Listed in the Movable Type Plugin Directory, and available for download from here.

  • Get Satisfaction Action Streams v. 1.1

A plugin for Mark Paschal's excellent Action Streams plugin for Movable Type; adds support for Get Satisfaction in one's Action Stream. Listed in the Movable Type Plugin Directory, and available for download from here.

  • GitHub Action Streams v. 1.0

A plugin for Mark Paschal's excellent Action Streams plugin for Movable Type; adds support for GitHub in one's Action Stream, linking to the affected objects on each watch, follow, push, etc. Soon to be listed in the Movable Type Plugin Directory, and available for download from here.

Continuing my series of Action Streams plugins, I've added a new one for GitHub, since after all, if I'm using GitHub for development of these plugins, it'd be in poor taste if it didn't get its own plugin! :-) Available... Read More

Thanks for your effort in distributing these.

Where is the folder for Facebook Action Streams v. 1.0 supposed to be installed?

Thanks for pointing out that the file wasn't hugely well-organized. I've uploaded a new version of the file to make it clearer, but essentially, inside your plugins folder (inside the base mt directory), you need to have a FacebookActionStreams directory, that contains the config.yaml.

Hopefully the new file is easier to understand!

Hey Brendan,

This is an awesome start. What other Facebook actions do you think you'll be able to expose with the YourData app? right now, my FB status is linked with Twitter, so there's not much use for me there in terms of Action Streams, but I'd love to see a more robust stream of my FB actions.

Papi,

There's lots of data *available* (though not necessarily easily) through the API. What would you like to see exposed? I'm not, frankly, a heavy Facebook user precisely *because* their platform isn't open, so I don't know what people would like; if I had some ideas, I'd likely integrate them.
